Have you ever wondered what aspects of your personality made you attractive to your partner?
It’s an exciting subject that most of us don’t think about that much. After all, once you have fallen head over heels in love, you don’t think much about how or why you fell in love. It’s like an unstoppable force that just magically happened.
Perhaps you were just on the lucky side of cupid’s arrow that day or the stars aligned perfectly, and a miracle happened! Seriously though, we all know that falling in love is more than just a lottery draw. After all, there are definite reasons that we are attracted to one another, so check out some of the characteristics that make your partner swoon.
You may have already guessed some of the traits on the list, but others might completely surprise you.
1. How Sweet and Kind You Are
When you treat your partner gently with respect and understanding, it’s a very lovable trait. It also makes them want to treat you with the same appreciation.
Many people have been in relationships that are filled with stressful drama, and it’s beautiful to be able to relax and just enjoy the love you share. They also notice how kindly you treat the other people who are involved in your life, such as family, friends, and coworkers.
2. Your Fears and Vulnerabilities
When you’re in love, you should be able to be open and reveal all aspects of yourself to your partner. This includes your fears or apprehensions about things in life. No one is perfect, we all have issues that bother us, and when you share these with your partner, it makes them feel like they can be open with you in return.
In this article they made a terrific point; “People who aren’t afraid to be vulnerable create more opportunities for meaningful connection, romantic or otherwise, through their openness.”
When you expose your vulnerabilities, your partner knows that you trust them enough to share your weaknesses with them.
3. How Polite You Are
Being polite is a very lovable trait in a person. Everyone uses their manners when they first meet someone, but when you keep treating your partner politely, it shows that you value your relationship. It’s always appreciated when someone says ‘please’ or ‘thank you.’
Of course, everyone has a rough day sometimes and might accidentally say something that comes out the wrong way. If you handle this politely and apologize, your manners will win once again, and it will make you seem even more lovable to your partner.
4. How Cute You Are When You Get Embarrassed
They think it’s adorable because it’s a genuine reaction to emotions that’s hard for you to hide. We all have moments of embarrassment, but some of us don’t protect it very well. Do your cheeks turn red and palms sweat? Well, don’t worry too much about it because your partner finds it endearing.
This article points out: “Rather than signaling weakness or a lack of social skills, embarrassment seems to signal that a person values relationships and is likely to be loyal and reliable.”
So, while your partner would never embarrass you on purpose, they’ll want to be there to console you, when you do feel embarrassed.
5. How Empathetic You Are
“Empathy is truly the heart of the relationship,” said Carin Goldstein, a licensed marriage and family therapist.
“Without it, the relationship will struggle to survive.”
When you understand and relate to your significant other, it shows that you love them. It means the world to them if they know that you are not only listening to the things they have to say but putting yourself in their shoes and feeling it too. This makes you even more accessible to love than you already were, to begin with.
6. Your Honesty and Conviction
This is an important trait that makes you irresistibly lovable. Many of us have been lied to in our past romantic relationships, and it hurts. Sometimes, we may know about a lie and just don’t say anything because we don’t want to fight.
When your partner knows that you are honest with them, it builds trust, and this makes the relationship stronger. I think this article made a terrific point; “Honesty is a way of life, not just a behavior. Keeping it paramount in your relationship will bring in more good and keep the bad stuff at bay.”
7. The Things That Make You Unique
We’re all different in so many ways, and the little quirks we possess are extremely attractive to your partner. After all, they love you for who you are, not who they want you to be.
Maybe you pronounce certain words a little funny or twirl your hair when you get nervous. Your significant other has noticed and thinks it makes you even more lovable.
8. When You Share Your Opinion
Your feelings are important to them, so when you share your opinions about things, they love to hear it. Even if it’s something as simple as a suggestion they made for dinner. If you don’t like it and let them know, then you can find another place you both enjoy.
Being able to share your opinions with your partner is an important trait that builds the connection you have with your partner.
9. Your Drive and Motivation
It’s inspiring to watch the one you love to chase their dreams. When your partner sees the way your eyes light up when you talk about your accomplishments, it makes you even more lovable. They are proud of the motivation that drives you to chase after your passions and want to help you fulfill your hopes and dreams as well as their own.
It also makes you even more lovable when you help motivate your partner to chase their dreams. Standing beside them through the good and bad times builds a relationship that can stand the test of time.
10. Your Ability to Have Fun Just Lounging Around
It’s not feasible to go out to an expensive restaurant and a trip to the theatre every night. When you are happy with the simple things, like a Netflix and chill night in your pajamas, it shows that you are relaxed and comfortable with them. When you can just lounge around and enjoy one another’s company it makes you even more lovable.
So, remember, in the fine art of love and relationships there are many things that your partner notices and loves, that you may not have even thought of. How many of these characteristics have you seen and love in your partner?
