The Ultimate Satisfaction From Sex Comes After 48 Hours, According to Scientists

Sex is similar to pizza – even if it is not that good, it is still pretty good, and you just cannot get enough of it. Most of you might think that the best part of sex is, of course, the orgasm, but scientists have found out that the best part comes later.

It is called an “afterglow.”

The afterglow lasts for two days after intercourse, and it makes you feel calm and happy.

The study, which was published in the Psychological Science, analyzed different couples and found out that the afterglow of sex makes the relationship stronger and the connection between partners more intense.

One of the researchers, Andrea Meltzer said that their research showed that the satisfaction from an intercourse lasts 48 hours after. She also added, that people, who reported a higher level of sexual satisfaction also reported a higher standard of relationship satisfaction many months after.

Andrea Meltzer and her team analyzed more than 200 newlyweds, and these couples had to keep a diary about their sex life and their level of satisfaction with their partner and their marriage.

The research showed clearly that every time the couple had sex both partners felt happier and more content with the relationship. They were much more confident about their marriage. The report also found out that those newlyweds, who do not have sex that often, have more conflicts than the ones, who do.

The scientists confirm that the afterglow happens regardless of age and sex. All people, who have intercourse are affected by the positive afterglow.

Of course, these couples might not stay happy forever, but there is a bigger chance that they will fight less often and are more content with each other. The research proved that sex plays a significant role in the couples wellbeing and should be studied more.

This research supports another study, which found out that happy couples preferred cuddling to orgasms in comparison to the couples, who did not have intercourse that often.

There are times when you have a lot of work, stress or just cannot find the time to be romantic with your partner. But remember, that not having sex will probably make you both more frustrated with each other and the relationship. To avoid problems, find the time for each other and spice things up in the bedroom. You will most definitely not regret it.
