3 Relationship Issues You May Be Experiencing Because of Mercury Retrograde

Holidays are stressful enough but 2017 has an extra twist this time: Mercury is in retrograde from December 3 to December 22.

This fact may fall on deaf ears for some but, pay attention, because this holiday retrograde event will surely affect us all. Lucky for you, we have narrowed down three key things to watch out for to avoid extra stress and a potential breakup with your romantic partner, friends, or even in your work life.

Negative Feelings May Be Temporary

When mercury is in retrograde, there are a lot of changes that take place, but most seem to be short-lived.

This especially rings true when a couple breaks up, or a friendship breaks down during the retrograde. As a couple going through a breakup at this time, the feelings and thoughts that led to it all may not be as permanent as you initially thought.

Instead, when the retrograde ends on December 22, you may feel a significant change of heart, one of those “what was I thinking?!” moments. Until the regressive ends, you would do well to take advantage of the solitude and take time to yourself to evaluate the situation.

This could help to unwind your brain, settle your heart, and clear the way for thinking more realistically once the retrograde is over. The same goes for any friendships that may have hit a rough patch, you owe it to yourself and the bond (assuming it is of value to you), to take a step back and re-think things before walking away altogether.

Think Before You Speak, Nothing is Clear Right Now

Mercury is the planet that rules the part of your mind that controls sense of logic and rational thinking. It goes to show that, when mercury is in retrograde, your ability to think and behave logically and with rationality, will be severely compromised. This will impact and affect many people so, if you are thinking about breaking up with your partner, consider holding off with acting on those feelings.

You may not be seeing everything from all proper aspects so, jumping to any rash decisions will most likely end up becoming a regret. Regret is an awful feeling that no one wants to deal with and a mercury retrograde will provide the catalyst for such events if you’re not careful.

If you were unfortunate enough to have had a breakup during this holiday retrograde, don’t worry too much. The air will eventually clear when the retrograde is over, and both of you may feel the need to reach out to one another, which could lead to a reunion of sorts.

Misunderstandings and Impaired Communication Run Rampant

The Christmas season is already full of frustration and regularly attributes to breakups. This season combined with the retrograde will make everything that much worse. It is easier to become confused and misunderstand even the most simple of situations. Little things can begin to pile up, which could likely lead to a couple ending their union.

If the couple is mutually in love, a reconciliation could be on the horizon if they truly want it. Once things have settled down, and communication has resumed, it is likely that a new, stronger relationship could be developed between the pair. However, if the couple wasn’t much, to begin with, then getting back together may not be in the cards after all.

Do your best to stay calm and behave as civil as possible during this difficult holiday retrograde. In the end, just like all other retrogrades throughout the year, it is only temporary and should be recognized as such. Avoid big decisions and keep a level head so that these troubling times won’t be so troubling to you.
