How To Relax Your Mind And Body To Be More Productive?

Taking a break means tasks left undone!

Right?

You have to be working day in day out to manage in this competitive cutting edge life.

Well, not really. This is an age of working smart; you do not have to work long hours if you are a productive mind. For maximum productivity, the key how to relax your mind and body. Contradictory? Isn’t it?

Let us explain.

When we take too much stress, its first victim is our mind and brain. While we think we are trying hard and working our full potential, in reality, our mind is in ‘fight or flight’ mode. The neural circuitry of our brain is then short circuited to handle an emergency situation, and the average full productivity is not achieved. The cognitive abilities like paying attention, comprehension and learning take the back seat, and the focus is narrowed to handle the current task at home. This is a positive trait for short term but continues working on a task to task basis creates a narrow focus, and we fall back on negative learned habits.

How to relax your mind and body to get into your ideal state?

Relax And Breathe

Breathing is the single most important technique how to relax your mind and body. The best way is going to a quiet corner and sitting calmly. Now close your eyes and shut out the daily stress from your mind. Take a deep breath in through your nose, concentrate on your breathing in and breathing out. Breathe out slowly through your mouth. The key is to have full concentration on your breathing and your body response to it.

Visualize Success

Imagine yourself working on the next task for a few seconds. Assume that you are working effortlessly and are successfully completing the task at hand. The feeling of achievement got just through visualizing has enough energy to move you on.

Take A Break

While taking a break sounds counter-productive, it is actually a booster. If you feel stressed out, cannot focus and things look blurry? Shift your attention. Focus on something else, some music, a quick read, walk in nature, talk a deep breath and focus on yourself.
It is more about the quality of break than the time you spend. If you can shift your focus entirely, a few minutes will do. But here again, you have to have a sharp mind to make the shift proper.

Divide Your Work

Doing work in small bursts also increases the productivity. A 25-50 minutes span of work followed by a brief 5 minutes break is ideal to boost productivity and keep you relax.

Make use of your time and effort intelligently to achieve more. Only hard work is not enough in today’s world. Take the leap from ordinary to extra ordinary.
