If you love lemonade and have anxiety as I do, then you will be forever grateful that you found this article. I would never have guessed that a nostalgic favorite from my childhood like lemonade, could also help to relieve anxiety symptoms and headaches. But it’s true! All it takes is adding a bit of lavender oil to your recipe to reap the benefits. If you’ve never used lavender oil to help calm your nerves before, then you are in for a real treat.
Lavender has a soothing, pleasant smell and a chemically complex structure that has over 150 constituents. It’s been proven to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antifungal, analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial, antispasmodic, detoxifier, hypotensive and sedative properties.
In this study, lavender oil was used to treat anxiety disorders and related conditions. When 80 mg of Silexan (an essential oil that is produced from lavender flowers by the process of steam distillation) was taken once a day, it helped anxiety disorders, disturbed sleep, restlessness, and agitation.
In fact, when they performed a six-week trial of Silexan lavender oil and compared it to a standard anxiety drug called Lorazepam they found that the 80 mg dosage was comparable to 0.5 mg of lorazepam and relieved efficiently generalized anxiety disorder.
Now that you’ve heard about all the fantastic benefits and properties of lavender, I’m going to share a simple recipe with you that may relieve your anxiety and headaches naturally and deliciously.
