People Who Post About Their Love Life on Facebook Have Psychological Problems

All of us have that one friend who is never going to let go of the idea of updating everything to Facebook! Be it at the gym or bragging about how depressed, in love or how happy they are! Then we also have couples who find solace in posting about their love on Facebook as if there is no other way validate the relationship.

The amazing meals at romantic restaurants, trips to Europe, replicas of “The Holding Hand” pictures and “It’s Complicated” statuses.

And without too many thoughts going into it, we go ahead and like them or comment to congratulate but something is fantastic.

Research Findings

New research conducted at Brunel University, London suggests that those who consistently push their gym routines, workouts and accomplishments on social media are plainly narcissistic. While on the other hand, those putting constant updates of their relationships are suffering from low self-esteem.

If not both, one of the partners posting on Facebook looking for ‘likes’ and ‘comments’ are only seeking attention.

“Although our results suggest that narcissists’ bragging pays off because they receive more likes and comments to their status updates, it could be that their Facebook friends politely offer support while secretly disliking such egotistical displays.” – Dr. Tara Marshall
